Recipe: Homemade Crunchwrap Supremes

Lately I have been craving Taco Bell SO badly but refuse to allow myself to indulge in that garbage (no offense Taco Bell, I love you, really..) so being the whiz in the kitchen that I am, I decided to make my own! At long last I've moved back in with my family, so since my sister and I had a night in together for the first time in forever, I figured it would be a good time to try this out!

Also keep in mind, there are loads of possibilities for customization, and making it vegan is also very possible by substituting dairy-free options!

INGREDIENTS:
  • large flour or corn tortilla
  • small tostada shells (I didn't want to purchase any so I opted for some multigrain Tostitos chips which I will get MUCH more use out of!)
  • queso sauce
  • protein: meat if you're interested (chicken, beef, etc) or beans (black, pinto, refried etc)
  • shredded lettuce
  • shredded cheese
  • diced tomatos
  • sour cream (or plain greek yogurt for a healthier alternative)
  • basically anything else you feel could go with it!

DIRECTIONS:
  • warm your tortilla up a bit, to ensure it's easy to bend/fold etc
  • put a dollop of queso in the centre and spread, but leave a wide edge for wrapping it later
  • on top, put your protein in (meat, beans, etc)
  • place the tostada shell or tortilla chips on top to create the crunchy layer
  • spoon a dollop of sour cream/greek yogurt over the shell and spread
  • sprinkle on the lettuce, cheese and any other vegetables
  • then you're going to wrap the edges of the tortilla up to cover the filling
  • if it doesn't fit, rip off part of another tortilla and put it inside on top of the lettuce/cheese layer
  • (the hardest part) flip your wrap onto a non-stick pan with the fold side down
  • press down on the wrap to ensure the folds seal and brown
  • flip it over just to heat the queso side up a bit
  • you're ready to eat!

I am OBSESSED and will definitely make these again, they were so good! My super picky sister even loved them, and now we have a newfound adoration of queso sauce.. mmm queso sauce. If you try these let me know how you do!

Exam Look

Hello friends! As I'm sitting here munching on birthday cake flavoured oreo's (sooo good, you have to try them!) and doing revision for exams, I figured I'd take a quick little break and post a little post!
In the midst of all the craziness that is finals, beauty gets put on the back burner. My rationalization is that I'm only going to be out in public for 3 hours max then I'll be back in my room like a hermit. Nevertheless I still feel the need to put a little effort into my appearance and not look as if I've just come off the streets. That being said, I present to you my go-to look!

❤ Topknot with leopard print bow elastic band from Forever 21
❤ Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer
❤ Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes mascara
❤ Nars blush in Super Orgasm
❤ Whatever lipbalm I can get my hands on..

Ipsy Bag -- April 2013

I've said it once, and I'll say it again - the best day brightener is always a bright pink Ipsy package in the post! That being said.. today my April Ipsy package arrived, hurray!

This months theme is 'Pretty in Pink' - first impression, I LOVED the bag! So simple, so cute!

This months contents:
  1. Be A Bombshell Blush in Sweet Cheeks - this blush swatched so nicely, it's such a great velvety texture. It seems like a great quality blush, buuuut the colour just didn't suit me too well. Its a fairly bright pink with blue and silver undertones which are a no-no for me. I have olive toned skin with yellow undertones, so gold is my thing.
  2. MicaBeauty Mineral Eyeshadow in Earth - this was one of the either/or products for this month and let me tell you I was so pleased to have gotten this one! The other option was an eyeshadow duo by Two Cosmetics which I probably would never touch.. so I'm happy! It's a gorgeous shimmery barely there pink shade, and the texture is really lovely!
  3. BigSexyHair Powder Play - I've yet to try this but I've heard wonderful things, and love the brand so I'm so excited to have gotten this one! The other option was a soy renewal which is equally fab, but I'm more excited to try this baby out!
  4. Sation Nail Lacquer in Of Corset I'll Call You - I was hoping for the other colour since I literally just purchased a new pastel pink polish, so I'll likely be giving this to my sister (she gets all my makeup rejects) but the colour is super pretty!
A quick swatch of the blush - super pretty and velvety, but not for my skin tone :(
And the Mineral Eyeshadow - a barely there shimmery pink!

And a little price breakdown:
  1. Be A Bombshell Blush in Sweet Cheeks - retails 16$ (16$)
  2. MicaBeauty Mineral Eyeshadow in Earth - retails 14.95$ for 2.5 gm, sample was 2gm (11.96$)
  3. BigSexyHair Powder Play - retails at 15.95$ for 0.53 ounces, sample was 0.07 ounces (2.20$)
  4. Sation Nail Lacquer in Of Corset I'll Call You - retails 5$ (5$)
Giving an overall 35.16$/10$ so a great value indeed, as always :~)

Mini Haul: Tea, Sephora & Topshop

Hello hello hello! I hope you're all doing well :) sorry I've been quite absent, again, it's just so hard with school finishing up to find time for all the little things; reading, blogging, shopping.. etc. But I managed to make an exception and go shopping with my best friends at one of the most lavish malls our country has to offer. Mind you, I was only able to lust after the gorgeous Louis V, Mulberry and Prada bags and made some very typical purchases instead. With that, here is a little bit of what I got :)

The loot! From David's Tea, Sephora and Topshop

Tea! As you may or may not know, I am an avid tea drinker! I normally go for really fruity types of tea (greens and whites are my favourites) but since I don't have a david's tea in close proximity to me, I like to grab the ones that are more exclusive to David's than the ones I can find a Teavana, etc. So I got Birthday Cake and Red Velvet Cake :~)

Nars Blush in Super Orgasm: I have the full size in Orgasm and I love it to pieces, so I'm excited to try this peachier version of the cult classic, perfect for summer!

Philosophy's Purity Cleanser: this is one of my all time favourite cleansers, I can always just feel the grossness just melting off when I wash my face. And I love the texture and scent of it as well. Always a constant repurchase for me.
Tarte's Amazonian Clay Double Detox Mask; I was given a sample of this mask and I'm so excited to try it! As you probably know, I looooove my face masks!

Nails Inc. Feathers polish in York; It's not a trip to Sephora without buying a nail polish.. I've been dying to try this out, so I'm super excited! Full review after I've had it on long enough! Love this colour though, again, super excited!
Sephora Creamy Body Wash in Peony; It came in peony.. enough said.

Topshop lipstick in Charmed; Somehow managed to come out of Topshop with only a lipstick.. it wasn't a very satisfying visit.. however I'm dying for some spring colours so I'm excited for this coral-y orange!

School will be finished for me in 2 weeks, then back to me going into crazy blogger mode, and you all getting sick of me ;~) thanks for bearing with me! Soon!
