9 Feb - NYFW || AW14 RTW 03

Victoria Beckham
I love how everything was black and white.. so effortless chic, and so me. The gold chains were a nice detailing. I really liked the transition from the boxy/crisp/tailored outfits, to the loose/flowy dresses. Victoria does phenomenal evening wear, so I was quite pleased to see how many pieces she showed for that category.

Thakoon
What I really loved about this collection was the silky pyjamas as clothes look. Again, we are seeing my favourite, the cobalt blue. Once again, we're seeing plenty of knitwear alongside sheer and/or silky fabrics, and lots of layering.

Diane Von Furstenberg
I love the pattern on pattern shown in a few looks, and I also loved the classic DVF silhouettes. I also really enjoyed the entire gold segment; such beautiful garments. As always, great to see the wrap dress.

8 Feb - NYFW || AW14 RTW 02

Lacoste
I love the silhouettes in this collection. Very structured, yet very boxy. All outfits I would totally wear. Again, we're seeing pops of that cobalt blue, alongside lots of black. Very monochromatic; outfits featuring pieces of entirely the same colour.

Jill Stuart
I love the fabrics in this line; the crystal studded velvet, the leather, the suede, the satin.. beautiful. As always, I loved seeing lots of black. It's interesting how many ways a colour can be interpreted. Lots of pieces in this collection I would love to own.

Herve Leger by Max Azria
I love the metallics in this line, they went well with the geometric/futuristic patterns on the garments.

Mara Hoffman
I love the colours and patterns of this collection. Again, we're seeing the cobalt blue, this time on silkier designs. Lots of abstract and geometric patterns, everything is very "Moroccan", with a cooler colour palette. Very bohemian with the flowing maxi skirts, also very crisp tailored pants, giving something for everyone.

Christian Siriano
I love the boxy silhouettes we're seeing, and the crisp fabrics. Also seeing some fuller shapes here, which are a nice contrast to the tailoring. Loved the sheer also.

7 Feb - NYFW || AW14 RTW 01

Alas, New York Fashion Week is upon us. Better yet, the Autumn Winter collections, my favourite! This season in texture we're seeing a lot of "teddy bear" like fabrics, knits and overall fluff! For colours, lots of black (love!) amongst pops of mod like colour, beiges and ivories and various shades of deep blues and deep reds.

Rebecca Minkoff
I really loved the contrast of dark pieces with pastel pieces. The light flowy pinks, and then the hard leather lines. These are my four favourite looks, and I would honestly wear the entire outfits, as opposed to just pieces. I'm a huge fan of Rebecca Minkoff, and this was another killer collection!

Kate Spade
I loved the pop of colour in the line, and the very mod looks. So different from what we've been seeing so far. It was also really cool how they played with different textures; the leopard print jacket, the fluffy "teddy bear" skirt, the crisp slacks, the feathers. They also featured a segment with one of my favourite colours, cobalt blue, so I was quite happy seeing that!

Jason Wu
First off, let me start by saying ADRIANA LIMA THO.. the  epitome of a super model, my ultimate girl crush, the BEST way to start a show, I was thrilled! ANYWAY, as a complete monochromist, I loved how the show opened with a series of all black outfits - right up my alley! One of the silhouettes in particular was very remnant of 90s Calvin Klein to me. I also loved the transition to blue, so excited for this colour! The waistlines were very 40s and 50s. I can also see the bias cut slip dresses being very popular too.

Charlotte Ronson
This is probably going to wind up being one of my favourite RTW collections of the season. Why? Because you know I love my all black.. These  pieces were all so versatile and chic, and I could see myself wearing 90% of this at any point, as opposed to a trendy piece. I'm very excited for this collection and will definitely look into grabbing a few pieces!

Helmut Lang
This is one of my favourite designers, as of the past year or so. I love the loose structure of the brand, and with this collection I'm really loving the textured pieces. Again, we're seeing the "teddy bear" like fabrics, along with knits and more fluff alongside the classic crisp pieces.

9 Feb - NYFW || AW13 RTW 03

Jill Stuart
I thought this show was so cute; I loved the fabrics used. These were my favourite four outfits and I'd wear them all in a heartbeat as they are shown. I thought the last one really different.

Mara Hoffman
To me, this show was so refreshing! I was starting to get bored of seeing the same trends over and over again so this show completely exhilarated my thoughts.

Band of Outsiders
I loved the structure of the garments in this show. All very clean-cut, and very classic. I also quite liked the bursts of colour - very subtle, which is right up my alley. Loved the plums and navy's.

8 Feb - NYFW || AW13 RTW 02

Kate Spade
This collection was definitely all over the place - but in all of the right ways. Bright, colourful, cheeky prints are shown, as well as dark neutrals, and finally some more masculine silhouettes. My favourite outfit was the very last one as it is definitely something I would wear. I also quite liked the third outfit - so fun!

Jason Wu
Wu set out to create his most grown-up collection to date, and I think he's definitely succeeded with that. Still very feminine however, there were some great, straight, masculine cuts. It was all very monochromatic, with only bursts of red. My favourites from the collection were the third and last outfit.

Rebecca Minkoff
Definitely not one of my favourite shows - I just wasn't wowed by it. There was definitely a tomboy vibe to the collection with all of the layering going on. A highlight was definitely the outerwear which I would agree is Minkoff's strong suit. Again we're seeing lots of knits and leather, which I'm quite excited for! My favourite outfits were the first one and then the last three - love the blues!

What are you thoughts on NYFW so far? Any trends you're loving?

7 Feb - NYFW || AW13 RTW 01

New York Fashion Week, for me, are some of the most thrilling shows of the year. Fall is my favourite season in terms of fashion, so as you can imagine with the AW13/14 shows underway I'm absolutely thrilled! NYFW has loads of shows going on; so instead of doing separate posts by designer I'm going to do them by show days and feature a few of my personal favourites!

BCBG Max Azria
Initially, I was really disappointed when the first few looks rolled out. None of the silhouettes really appealed to me, but I really like the pops of blues. However, once the next set of looks came out I DIED. I was a massive fan of the oxblood trend we saw last fall, and I'm still not over it! So to see some more deep reds coming out made me the happiest! Also lots of knits were featured, so yay! I also really liked a lot of the embellishing and the leather in this show. Then finally, we saw monochrome. This one is going to be huge, I've been seeing it everywhere, and being an avid wearer of black, I'm very excited! It was also a lot of soft billowy fabrics mixed with harder fabrics like leather which is right up my alley!

Erin Fetherston
The Erin Fetherston show was once again a mix of hard and soft fabrics, but also very monochromatic. The garments were very structured and very wearable silhouettes. There a few pieces I'm very interested in from this collection! I really liked the use of rich colours; the deep blues, the plums, the greens.. definitely colours I'll be excited for come fall. My all-time favourite outfit was the 9th because that is practically an outfit straight out of my closet!

What are your thoughts so far on the shows?
