The other night I was tucked into bed, being sick and watching movies, when I noticed Clueless in my Netflix cue. It had been aaaages since I'd seen it, so I figured why not give it a whirl! Then I noticed just how lovely all the outfits were and realized how much inspiration I took from it, and how many looks are trendy now as well as how many are in my wardrobe alone! So I thought I'd make a post on some of my favourite outfits from the film.
Sorry if the picture quality isn't up to par.. I found it quite difficult to find pictures of the outfits I liked, there were plenty of plaid, but these gems were hard to find. That being said, majority of them are screen captures from my laptop whilst watching the film. Okay, go!
This one is an all-time favourite for me. I love love love the leather skirt, yet it looks so innocent paired with the white shirt and cardigan. Leather is definitely in, which just goes to show how fashion will always continue to repeat itself. In fact, Rebecca Minkoff has actually created a skirt inspired by the one seen on Cher which can be seen here at ASOS website.
This one I quite liked mainly because of the colour. Oxblood was a huge trend for fall, so it was great to see dear Cher rocking it 17 years prior. The cut of the dress is also lovely, as it's very simple, elegant and timeless. A definite winner in my books!
This one here is my 2nd favourite, after the leather skirt, mainly because of my obsession with over the knee socks. I just think this is such a well put together outfit, with the socks, matching beret, and of course the black and red plaid jacket. Cher is notorious for her plaid, after all.
Then of course, one of the most notorious of the bunch, Cher's barely there white Calvin Klein slip. This is just again, such a simple, timeless piece which just embodies simplistic style. While it's not something everyone can pull off, Rihanna was recently wearing the same dress recreated in red for her, which can be seen here.
And finally, this is a look from Cher's best friend, Dionne. I love the skirt; the material, the cut, it's gorgeous! And it looks phenomenal paired with the cropped floral top.
Again, sorry for the lack of quality pictures.. 95% of them are screen caps, I couldn't find any online which was rather unfortunate, but you get the gist I'm sure. :~)
